You will be initiating and developing relationships with prospective manufacturing customers in the medical device/furniture, oil and gas, capital equipment and commercial food equipment markets across the country. The position will call on OEMs to sell 889’s customized machining processes, aluminum extrusions, castings and more.

Our “sales reps” require the following:
• Targeting and pursuing -significant production machining outsourcing and contract machining opportunities from OEMs in the medical device/furniture, oil and gas, capital equipment and commercial food equipment markets
• Entrepreneurial “hunting”, consistent and focused every day on prospecting and customer development effort that produces qualified leads, building relationships and resulting in sales
• Rally support around accounts – build the customer-889 relationship at multiple levels and roles
• Networking, working alongside our operations and leadership to develop a book of accounts and contacts that might benefit from product diversification
• Working in an entrepreneurial, small business environment - handle many responsibilities in the spirit of consistent improvement
• Comfortable with the longer consultative sales cycle and with international markets
• Have a curiosity of how things work or are made

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• Associate Degree/Bachelor’s Degree/ or equivalent experience
• Experience working with international languages and cultures, specifically Mandarin.

• Ability to interpret component part drawings and prints is a plus

Essential Function:  

This position is responsible for overseeing the government contracting on a city and state level. This includes, but is not limited to, managing orders from the bidding stage through invoicing, actively searching for new bids and contracts, and strengthening relationships with new and existing vendors and customers.  

Primary Responsibilities:

• Bid on government one-time purchases and long-term contracts. 
• Develop relationships with Government Leaders, Commissioners and Director Level Executives of key agencies.
• Generate opportunities, orchestrate the pursuit process, and manage overall relationship.
• Manage purchase orders through their life cycle.
• Develop relationships with government buyers and vendors.
• Seek out new opportunities within state agencies.
• Network with individuals and attend informational sessions to learn of new opportunities.
• Assist with other miscellaneous projects and tasks in office.

Education:  High School diploma

Experience:  Several years of work experience related to project management and government purchasing.

The inspectors are responsible for managing the resources and focusing on three main areas Quality, Pricing, and Delivery.

• Work closely with the US Project Management team to understand and the client’s manufacturing needs, from the design phase through product delivery.
• Manage PM’s expectations, anticipate operational and tactical risks with projects
• Collaborate with our US PM team to locate, qualify, and negotiate with new vendors
• Clarify and identify issues, remove barriers to resolve minor issues and escalate to immediate manager where required
• Track production and quality control for projects to ensure 889’s quality standards and delivery time-tables are met
• Communicate with multiple parties throughout the quoting including production and delivery, our Asian factories, US PM team members and management
• Identify and help to qualify new vendors with the US PM team
• Handle both product and factory quality inspections according to 889’s QC procedures
